LEAD Contracting

LEAD Contracting is an Australian Disability Enterprise which provides supported employment to people with disability.

LEAD Contracting provides high quality sub contracting services, specialising in Horticulture and Cleaning.


Jerrabomberra Estate Maintenance

Contracting to Queanbeyan City Council, LEAD is responsible for maintaining green space in the suburb of Jerrabomberra.

Private Horticulture Contracts
Our private crews work across the region from yard maintenance, body corporate grounds and larger jobs such as school grounds and garden beds at Yowani Golf Course and the Australian National War Memorial.

Site Cleaning
With the boom in local construction, LEAD has seen a growth in the area of cleaning and maintaining construction site sheds. We work for companies such as Manteena and Project Coordination.

Mail Centre
Contracted with Centrelink, LEAD Contracting operates a mail centre which prepares all incoming correspondence with Centrelink for processing.

LEAD Access

LEAD Access facilitates community participation that improve the quality of life for people who have complex needs. LEAD Access has grown and developed a number of new initiatives, programmes and events for people that we work with. Over 200 people are now registered with LEAD access.

Some of the activities and projects that the LEAD Community Access Teams are involved in include;
Scanning at Planning and Land Management – our committed team scan and file planning documents for the ACT Government
The Recyclery – fixing up second hand bikes for ANU students and the wider community
Salvation Army – Sorting clothes and household items
Meals on Wheels – Pick up and deliver meals across the city
The Women’s Group – A social discussion group for women who are looking for new challenges and want to try new things

To be a part of LEAD Access contact Mary Neville. The inital focus as you join LEAD will be to design a personal development plan that matches your current aspirations. In future the Community Faciliators that you work with will monitor your plans, the things you're engaged with and how LEAD can continue to help you.

 
   

 
 

LEAD Employment

LEAD Employment is part of the Disability Employment Services.

LEAD employment provides specialist job search and support for people who have a disability and who are seeking long term employment in the community. LEAD has a team of employment specialists who will help you prepare for work, look for a job and work with you to maintain your employment.

There are a wide range of jobs where LEAD is currently providing support.

Hospitality
– There are a variety of jobs in hospitality where we provide support from kitchen hand, food preparation, to waiting and clearing tables

Car industry
– Detailing, stock management and cleaning

Retail
– Stock management, cleaning and customer service

Administration
– Government and non-Government administrative and clerical positions

LEAD Development

LEAD Development combines Community Development, a Registered Training Organisation and Consulting service to improve people’s skills, facilitate an understanding of diversity and increase the community inclusion of people who have a disability.

LEAD development projects include;
The Recyclery – a partnership between ANU Green, the Canberra Environment Centre and LEAD. The Recyclery is a drop in space where students, community volunteers and people with a disability all work together to fix up bikes and promote sustainable transport options to students and the community.
Disability awareness training – LEAD had delivered disability awareness training to Business and Government departments to improve customer service.
Provision of nationally accredited qualifications – LEAD delivers training focussing on industries such as cleaning, horticulture, community services, disability work and training and assessment.
